The Arizona Cardinals announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday. They signed nose tackle Bruce Gaston from the Miami Dolphins practice squad. To make room for Gaston, the teal released running back Jalen Parmele, whom they signed just last week.
Gaston was an undrafted rookie out of Purdue. He was with Arizona in training camp and the preseason and was among final cuts. He was claimed by the Patriots, then later waived and then signed to the Dolphins practice squad.
While at Purdue, he set career highs with 48 tackles (31 solo), seven tackles for loss, and three sacks while playing in all 12 games as a senior in 2013.
Gaston will wear jersey #75.
Gaston is now one of three nose tackles -- Dan Williams, Alameda Ta'amu and Gaston -- and one of eight defensive linemen. It will be interesting to see where he fits in, or if there is an injury we haven't heard about yet.
