The Arizona Cardinals have brought back punter Drew Butler to the team once again. After being released from the 53-man roster on Wednesday to make room for nose tackle Bruce Gaston, the team signed Butler to their 10-man practice squad.
Butler (6-1, 217) punted in each of the first three games this season for the Cardinals after originally signing with the team on September 8. In those three games, Butler punted nine times for 431 yards (47.9 yard avg.) with two kicks inside the 20 yard line.
Butler was signed and released twice from the active roster. The team needs another punter around because Dave Zastudil has been hampered by a groin injury.
To make room for Butler, the team released defensive tackle Christian Tupou. Tupou became expendable after the Gaston signing. As it is, the team has three nose tackles on the 53-man roster with Gaston, Dan Williams and Alameda Ta'amu.
