Cardinals vs. Chargers: Ted Larsen to start at LG, Larry Fitzgerald with knee injury

Here are some injury news with the team

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The media got to meet with Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians on Tuesday for the first time this week and also saw practice. Arians also was on Sirius XM NFL Radio Tuesday evening. As a result, we have some injury observations, even though the first injury report for the week will not be released until Thursday.

On Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday, Arians indicated that second year guard Jonathan Cooper is still hobbled by turf toe. He will not start. Instead, it will be Ted Larsen, who has been starting at left guard. Larsen had a great camp and preseason, and he received a lot of praise from Arians and general manager Steve Keim.

There are other injuries of note. Arizona Republic reporter Kent Somers observed that, in the open part of practice, receiver Larry Fitzgerald (who has a knee injury) and linebacker Alex Okafor (injury unknown) were not participating.

After practice, Arians said Fitzgerald is fine and is expected to play on Monday. He also indicated that everybody practiced.
