I talked to Bolts from the Blue's John Gennaro for one of the best preview podcasts I have ever done.

It was podcasting time. With the Arizona Cardinals hosting the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football, I had Bolts From The Blue ringleader John Gennaro on the podcast to talk about the Chargers to give us some good insight. The result was perhaps the best preview show I have been a part of.

John and I talked about the Ken Whisenhunt experience, what he meant to the Chargers and how his departure to Tennessee affects the team moving forward. Their new OC is Frank Reich, who was the QBs coach for San Diego a season ago and was the Cardinals receivers coach in Whisenhunt's last season in Arizona as head coach.

Gennaro made a very interesting comparison. He compared Whisenhunt to Jon Gruden. It was a comparison I had never heard and it is very apt. We will see if the Titans follow the same path that the Cardinals did.

The Philip Rivers bolo tie came up, as it must when you talk about the Chargers. Gennaro said it was exactly the sort of thing that Rivers needed to give him some personality, as he is a football and family kind of guy -- which happens to remind me of Carson Palmer.

We also talked about matchups and players and predictions. And for good measures, we talked about Tom Tupa because, according to Gennaro, that information I gave him a few years ago has won him more than a few drinks in bar bets.

Predictions: Both Gennaro and I predict a shootout. I say 31-27 Cardinals and he says 31-30 Chargers.

Oh, and we learn that Carson Palmer has been really, really good against the Chargers in his career.
