2015 NFL mock draft: Arizona Cardinals move on from Daryl Washington

The latest projections have the Cardinals saying adiós to the troubled linebacker.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

It's another Tuesday and we have another mock draft report for you. In the latest SB Nation mock draft by Dan Kadar, the top of the draft is defined by a trade up to nab Marcus Mariota.

In this edition of the mock draft, the Cleveland Browns trade up to number two to draft the Heisman winner, presumably moving on from Johnny Manziel after only one season.

As for the Arizona Cardinals, with the 24th pick, Kadar has them selecting linebacker Benardrick McKinney out of Mississippi State.

This type of pick would slam the door on Daryl Washington in Arizona. McKinney is an athletic linebacker who is at his best chasing down the ball carrier.

This could be a sign of moving on from Washington, who was suspended all of the 2014 season for substance abuse. Even if reinstated, he will face further punishment because of his domestic incident.

Of course, it could be possible that the Cardinals play both Washington and McKinney at the same time, much like they did with Washington and Karlos Dansby in 2013, giving them two athletic playmakers to roam the field.

The selection of McKinney is probably one that will pop up again in mock drafts.

Who else was available? There is tackle Andrus Peat, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (who could replace Dan Williams), linebacker Shaq Thompson and others.

Would McKinney be your pick with those guys on the table?
