Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is now making the rounds with head coaching interviews. With the Cardinals eliminated from the postseason, there are no restrictions. As such, according to reports, he has four teams lined up to interview him.
His interviews will reportedly begin, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, with the New York Jets on Wednesday. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora also reported the same thing, adding that he will then move on to interview with the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, with interviews expected soon thereafter with the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers.
NFL reporter Ian Rapoport takes it a bit further, indicating when the other interviews will be. His tweet states Bowles will indeed interview with the Jets on Wednesday and the Falcons on Thursday, adding the 49ers will be Friday and the Bears on Saturday.
Chicago was waiting to interview head coaching candidates until a general manager was hired. Rapoport suggests the Bears' ling up Bowles on Saturday would mean the team plans on having a GM by then.
The general belief is Bowles will be picky. He can be, at least in terms of money. He signed an extension as DC earlier during the season. According to Mike Jurecki, Bowles is now earning $2 million per season.
As of Wednesday, the fun begins. Are we about to lose Bowles?
