Bruce Arians compares Josh McCown/Johnny Manziel to Ben Roethlisberger/Michael Vick

An interesting comp, to say the least.

The Arizona Cardinals were back at practice on Wednesday, getting ready for their Week 8 game against the Cleveland Borwns. Head coach Bruce Arians addressed the media and when he spoke of the two Cleveland quarterbacks, he likened them to another pair of NFC North signal callers.

He compared Josh McCown to Ben Roethlisberger and Johnny Manziel to Michael Vick.

"Josh is very much like Ben," Arians told reporters after practice. "He's streaky. He gets on a roll, he gets hot. You've got to get him off the spot."

As for Manziel, Arians  likened him to Vick. "He's going to move around," he said. "He's going to make plays, probably moreso down the field, spinning out of the pocket."

Now, obviously McCown is nowhere near as good a players as Big Ben. Manziel has not accomplished anything close to what Vick has in his career. But in terms of preparation, I guess you can consider them fair comps.

He said "you've got to get ready for both guys."

Of course, when the Cardinals did do that getting ready for the Steelers, they were unprepared when Landry Jones entered the game.

Do the Browns have a Landry Jones? They do have Austin Davis. Luckily, if it comes down to him, the Cardinals do have film of him. They played against him when he was a member of the St. Louis Rams, so maybe they might be able to beat Cleveland's third string QB if the game comes to that.
