Sports Illustrated writer Greg Bedard didn't make any friends out here in Arizona Cardinals territory to start the season. In his preseason predictions for the season, he believed the Cardinals would struggle. In fact, with game-by-game predictions, he had the Cards pegged to win the first two games of the season and then lose their next 10 straight.
He was a guest on the Burns and Gambo show on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM and spoke about his preseason picks and his midseason picks. "Obviously I was way off (about the Cardinals)," he said.
"I'm not going to be a moron and stick to my preseason picks now that we have actual data and Carson Palmer is not hurt," he said.
He believes the Packers, who many feel are the best equipped for the postseason, do not match up well with Arizona.
"I think defensively, (the Cardinals) match up great against the Packers," he explained. "Right now the Packers can't get off man coverage and we know the Cardinals will do that. The Packers also have trouble protecting and the Cardinals can dial up some things as far as pressure. Offensively, the Packers have a lot of holes that I know Bruce Arians will exploit."
Bedard also thinks a potential Super Bowl with the Cardinals and Pats would be a good one.
It seemed a lot of people were upset about those preseason picks. Even head coach Bruce Arians has brought it up. They can't be mad at Bedard anymore. He is giving the Cardinals the respect they deserve.
