It was a wild Week 10 and we saw some movement in the NFC playoff race. At the very top, nothing changed, as the Carolina Panthers stayed undefeated with a 27-10 win over the Tennessee Titans. But a huge upset by the Detroit Lions over the Green Bay Packers and a big NFC West win by the Arizona Cardinals in Seattle has shaken up the playoff picture.
Here are the current NFC standings:
1. Carolina Panthers -- 9-0
2. Arizona Cardinals -- 7-2
3. Minnesota Vikings -- 7-2
4. New York Giants -- 5-5
5. Green Bay Packers -- 6-3
6. Atlanta Falcons -- 6-3
In the mix at 4-5 are six teams -- the Redskins, Buccaneers, Rams, Eagles, Seahawks and Bears. But as of right now, they are barely in the mix.
The Cardinals all but locked up the NFC West on Sunday, knocking off the Seahawks in Seattle 39-32, giving them a three-game lead in the division with seven weeks to go. At 7-2, they are ahead of the Vikings because of a better record in the NFC. Arizona is 5-1 in the conference, while the Vikings are 4-1.
Such is also the case for the Packers over the Falcons. Green Bay is 4-2 in the NFC, while the Falcons are 4-3.
If the playoffs started today, the Panthers and Cardinals would have a bye. The Vikings would host the Falcons, and the Giants would host the Packers on Wild Card Weekend.
