Daryl Washington reportedly has had 'multiple violations' while suspended

Perhaps a little clarity in a situation that has fans asking questions.

One of the lingering questions over the last long while for Arizona Cardinals fans all year has been the situation with suspended linebacker Daryl Washington. Some fans even claim some sort of league conspiracy to keep him away.

Washington's situation hit the news for the first time in a long time over the weekend. First, league commissioner Roger Goodell was asked about it on a local radio show in Phoenix and then FOX reporter Jay Glazer dropped a bomb on Sunday.

Goodell somewhat addressed it on Arizona Sports 98.7 on the Doug and Wolf Show.

Mainly he said not much can be said because of the required confidentiality that must be kept in these situations, but he is "aware that his status is unchanged and will remain so until the professionals are prepared to move that forward."

Essentially, the case has not been brought for him to rule on yet because the professionals involved are not ready to take it to him.

Glazer was the one who said what people have been asking. He reported Washington has "continued to have violations" of the league substance abuse policy since he was suspended in May of 2014.

Mike Jurecki has long reported the Cardinals have been trying to recoup bonus money the organization has paid Washington. That points to one thing -- Washington is done in Arizona.

Glazer said there is a chance Washington's career in the NFL is over.

Washington originally was suspended for several violations, including many missed tests. According to Ian Rapoport, apparently that issue has continued. Rapoport said it has been most missed tests again, but those count as failed tests, obviously, because why else would you miss a test?

Daryl Washington is done in Arizona and probably in the NFL. No need to lament what might have been. Arizona has won a ton of games without him and Deone Bucannon is playing very good football in Washington's position.

I think we can put this issue to bed. It isn't a conspiracy. It isn't the team not supporting him. It is Washington simply not caring enough to get his career back on track and being unreliable. You can't have that on your team, no matter how much talent he has.
