Carson Palmer making history for Arizona Cardinals with passing stats

He is having one of the finest seasons for any quarterback the Cardinals have ever had.

It is an understatement that Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Carson Palmer is having a good year. He is having a great year, and at age 35, perhaps the finest season of his long career. After his 374-yard, four-touchdown performance on Sunday, he is starting to show up in the Cardinals record books.

Here are some notes on Palmer from the team after his play in Cleveland.

PALMER THROWS FOUR TOUCHDOWNS IN THE WIN

QB Carson Palmer tied a season-high with four TD passes against the Brownson Sunday.Palmer now has 20 TD passes on the season, establishing a franchise record for TD passes in the first eight games of a season.

Prior to 2015, Palmer had never thrown for more than 16 TDs in the first eight games of a season (16 - 2005, 2007).

Sunday's win over the Browns was Palmer's eighth career game with at least four TD passes and second as a member of the Cardinals. Both of those performances have come this season (4 TDs in Week 2 at Chicago).Palmer became the first player in franchise history to throw 4+ TD passes in a game multiple times in a single season.

In franchise history there have been 24 games in which a Cardinals QB threw at least four TD passes. Charley Johnson (4), Jim Hart (3), Palmer (2), Kurt Warner (2), Jake Plummer (2) and Lamar McHan (2) are the only QBs in franchise history to throw at least four TD passes in a game multiple times in their career.

The win gives Palmer a 19-4 record in his last 23 starts dating back to Week 8 of the 2013 season.

Palmer completed 23 of 38 pass attempts (60.5%) for 374 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT and a 117.7 passer rating against the Browns yesterday.
