Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer has come a long way. Not long ago, he was a selfish diva who got himself traded from Cincinnati because he refused to play for them. Now he is one of the most popular players in the NFL.
Fan voting for the Pro Bowl is complete and Palmer ended up with the fourth highest vote count among all players. Tom Brady, Cam Newton and Andy Dalton were the only players to get more votes.
Fan votes count for one third of the calculation for making it to the Pro Bowl. The players and coaches will also vote and the Pro Bowlers will be announced December 22.
In addition to Palmer being in the top 10 overall in votes, 10 other Cardinals players were in the top 10 in fan voting at their respective positions.
Per AZCardinals.com, these are the other players who were among the top vote-getters at their positions:
RB -- Chris Johnson (8th)
WR -- Larry Fitzgerald (4th)
G -- Mike Iupati -- (5th)
DT -- Calais Campbell, Frostee Rucker (5th and 7th)
CB -- Patrick Peterson (5th)
SS -- Rashad Johnson, Deone Bucannon (7th, 10th)
FS -- Tyrann Mathieu (3rd)
ST -- Justin Bethel (4th)
Based on this and their season and reputation around the league I would expect Palmer, Fitz, Iupati, Peterson, Mathieu and Bethel to make it this year.
