The biggest injury news coming out of the 40-17 Arizona Cardinals victory was the loss of Tyrann Mathieu with a torn ACL. He was not the only player to suffer an injury in Philly. Quarterback Carson Palmer and defensive lineman Josh Mauro also got hurt.
There is good news, though. Palmer's injury will not cause him to miss any time.
Palmer injured his finger and came out for a play. He would return and play well. Head coach Bruce Arians said the finger was dislocated, "but it's fine."
The finger popped out of place, but was put back in. Arians does not anticipate Palmer missing any time.
Mauro suffered a calf injury. Arians said he will "probably be a week, hopefully."
Mauro played well, collecting four total tackles and a forced fumble in his 26 snaps. He has been effective in his role in big nickel sets. When the Cardinals go with six DBs (including Deone Bucannon), they go sometimes with two down linemen and two edge rushers and other times with three down linemen and one edge rusher. Mauro is that third down lineman.
Safety Rashad Johnson should return to practice this week. The first injury report of the week will not come out until Wednesday.
