The Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers held their Christmas Eve practice and the Cardinals saw some improvement in the health area. Running back Andre Ellington returned to practice, signaling perhaps he will be ready to play on Sunday. In fact, the DNP list dropped down to only two players -- defensive tackle Josh Mauro and safety Rashad Johnson. Mauro is not expected to play this weekend.

Johnson, despite not practicing, is optimistic.

"Today was the best day that I felt," he said via Arizona Sports. "Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to practice some tomorrow and hopefully get the ‘go' from the training staff and the Coach (Bruce Arians) on Sunday."

He indicated he should feel good to play, based on his progress thus far. If he can get some work in on Friday, he will probably be available to play.

LInebacker Sean Weatherspoon, who sat out Wednesday with an illness, returned to full participation.

Center Lyle Sendlein and tight end Jermaine Gresham, who were both limited on Wednesday, also were upgraded to full. Patrick Peterson also practiced fully again.

The rest of the players listed were limited: QB Carson Palmer (finger), CB Jerraud Powers (calf), DT Cory Redding (ankle), DT Frostee Rucker (ankle) and DT Ed Stinson (shoulder).

Green Bay's injury report looked the same as Wednesday's, with three changes. DT Mike Daniels, who missed practice Wednesday, was upgraded to limited with his hamstring injury. tight end Justin Perillo was a new addition to the report, being limited Thursday with a hamstring. Center Corey Linsley was downgraded from full participation to being limited with an ankle injury.

Four players did not practice: T David Bakhtiari (ankle), LB Jayrone Elliott (quad), DT Letroy Guion (foot) and CB Sam Shields (concussion)

Four other players other than Daniels, Perillo and Linsley were limited: T Bryan Bulaga (ankle), RB Eddie Lacy (rib). G T.J. Lang (shoulder) and LB Clay Matthews (ankle).
