Cardinals vs. Packers inactives: Andre Ellington to play, no Rashad Johnson, Sam Shields

Green Bay will also have to play their backup left tackle.

The inactives are out for the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, and there is a surprise. Starting safety Rashad Johnson, who was expected to play after missing last week's contest, is inactive and will not dress for the big game, leaving a pretty big hole in a secondary already missing Tyrann Mathieu.

That means Tony Jefferson and D.J. Swearinger will start at safety for Arizona and leave Chris Clemons the only help off the bench.

In better news, running back Andre Ellington is active and will back up David Johnson, who rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns last week.

Johnson and defensive tackle Josh Mauro, also inactive, are the only players inactive due to injury.

The other inactives are QB Matt Barkley, tackle D.J. Humphries, DT Xavier Williams, OLB Shaq Riddick, CB Corey White, along with Johnson and Mauro.

Green Bay is also down a couple of starters. Cornerback Sam Shields and left tackle David Bakhtiari, who did not practice all week, are inactive. Former ASU standout Demarious Randall will start in Shields' place, while left tackle will be manned by Don Barclay.

Also inactive are backup tight end David Perillo, QB Brett Hundley, LB Andy Mulumba, TE Kennard Blackman and LB Jayrone Elliott.
