Cardinals vs. Vikings injury report: Total of 17 players do not practice for both teams before Thursday Night Football

A first look at the injury report for the short week.

The Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings have a very quick turnaround from one game to the next as they played on Sunday, yet face one another on Thursday Night Football. That means an injury report on Monday. The result of having a practice so early after a game means a lot cannot participate. 17 players did not practice on Monday.

Of course, the teams did not hold regular practices. They were walk-throughs and the reports were based on what things would have been for a full practice.

For the Cardinals, there were the players who likely are going to be out on Thursday night -- running back Andre Ellington (toe), cornerback Jerraud Powers (calf) and defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (ankle). Additionally, safety Tony Jefferson (hamstring) and tight end Jermaine Gresham (knee) sat out. Gresham had tot leave Sunday's game with the injury.

Other players were listed as limited. Some were players who have been appearing on the report, but new injuries were safety Rashad Johnson's ankle, long snapper Mike Leach's knee and running back Stepfan Taylor's shoulder.

That being said, Arians didn't have anything to comment about injuries when he spoke to the media. He did say, "we look pretty healthy coming out of that ball game."

That could lead one to believe that things will be fine for those players appearing now on the injury report, or Arians simply might be saying nothing.

Minnesota lost some defensive starters in their game on Sunday against the Seahawks. Seven players would have sat out if it were a full practice. All are on the defensive side of the ball. They were linebacker Anthony Barr (hand, groin), safety Robert Blanton (knee), safety Antone Exum (rib/shoulder), defensive tackle Linval Joseph (foot), safety Andrew Sendejo (knee), safety Harrison Smith (knee/hamstring) and linebacker Brandon Watts (rib).

We will have to see how many of these guys will miss Thursday.
