NFL free agency: Arizona Cardinals have eyes on 2 ILBs

Who could these players be?

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

This offseason, the Arizona Cardinals have stated multiple times one of their biggest priorities is to add speed at inside linebacker.

With the return of Daryl Washington uncertain, they need to add someone with speed who can cover sideline to sideline and ideally be able to pick up tight end in coverage.

Local reports and radio host Mike Jurecki tweeted the team has a couple of players in free agency on their radar.

So who could those players be?

Is it David Harris?

Harris, who has played for the Jets, is 31. He is a guy with speed, though. he also would not come cheap. he has picked up at least 120 tackles in each of the last three seasons and had 5.5 sacks in 2014. Way back when he was drafted, he ran a sub-4.6 40-yard dash, which is even faster than Daryl Washington.

Is it Brad Jones?

Jones played for Green Bay for four seasons. In 12 games in 2013, he had over 80 tackles and three sacks, but started only one game in 13 he appeared in during the 2014 season. He only had 18 total tackles. However, his 4.54 40 time coming out of college turned some heads.

There is Nick Roach.

Roach has speed, but also has concussion issues. He played last season for the Raiders, so he is familiar with new Cardinals linebackers coach Bob Sanders. Productive in 2013 with 112 tackles and 5.5 sacks, he missed the entire 2014 season with concussion symptoms.

Other inside linebackers who could be on the team's radar are Colin McCarthy (he had a 4.59 40 coming out of college), Josh Mauga (fast, but played very little in the league so far) and A.J. Hawk, who was recently released, although it was for a failed physical.

Are there any other names out there that might fit the bill?
