Since the new CBA was agreed to in 2011, players get performances based on playing time and their salary. The basic idea is this -- if you are a lower paid player and you play a significant amount for your team, you will get more.
Last year, Yeremiah Bell, playing on a veteran's minimum deal, played every snap for the Cardinals and earned an extra $263,000. Last year's bonuses won't get paid out until April 2016.
That is different this year.
Cardinals safety Tony Jefferson gets one of the 25 biggest bonuses. He tops the list for the Cardinals. ESPN's Josh Weinfuss has the complete list for the Cardinals. Even John Abraham gets almost $1500.
Here are the top 10 bonus earners for the Cardinals:Tony Jefferson, S: $252,806.34
Larry Foote, LB: $231,429.78
Bobby Massie, T: $225,089.09
Alex Okafor, LB: $169,015.35
John Brown, WR: $163,368.89
Andre Ellington, RB: $138,746
Jaron Brown, WR: $134,091.77
Paul Fanaika, G: $131,067.75
Robert Hughes, RB: $120,522.26
Tommy Kelly, DT: $111,776.63
Justin Bethel, CB: $97,942.92
Unlike last year, when bonuses will not be paid until 2016, this year's bonus gets paid this year.
