Arizona Cardinals 2015 NFL Draft Needs: Post Free Agency

The Arizona Cardinals have made some upgrades in free agency, how does that change their needs in the 2015 NFL Draft?

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

We opened the 2015 NFL Draft season nearly two months ago with a look at what the Arizona Cardinals needed heading into free agency.

Now, with the big moves, outside of a potential trade with the Minnesota Vikings that may or may not ever come to fruition, the Arizona Cardinals are loaded with new talent at positions of need, but also need some more work.

What do you think are the Arizona Cardinals biggest needs heading into the 2015 NFL Draft?

Edge Player: The Arizona Cardinals were mentioned with a lot of big names, but none of those came to pass, so now the Arizona Cardinals are semi-stuck.

You see, the chances of getting an impact pass rusher at 24 are... slim.

My friend Joe Goodberry did all the heavy lifting, but the results speak volumes.

Pass rushers draft past the top 20 just don't have the impact we expect.

When you look at those names, there are some players that have turned out pretty good, Jerry Hughes, Anthony Spencer, and obviously Clay Matthews, but the rest are just nice players as edge rushers (obviously Cameron Jordan is excellent).

So maybe that pick at 24 being "forced" into being an edge rusher is not the way to go.

Inside Linebacker: This will not change unless Daryl Washington is reinstated or they sign another player, but going into 2015 with Sean Weatherspoon and his two career seasons playing more than 900 snaps, and Kevin Minter, is probably not the best plan.

No. 24 will likely be a sweet spot for inside linebackers, if the Arizona Cardinals so choose to go that route.

Running Back: This could drag on until the draft or get fixed quickly, but the Arizona Cardinals need a running back to pair with Andre Ellington.

If that ends up being in the draft instead of through free agency or trade, then they will have a lot of options.

Cornerback: Maybe the one that could be moved up over a couple of the others, the Cardinals need another corner on the roster.  It may not be for 2015, but with Jerraud Powers contract up after this year, getting someone in and some seasoning could be the way to go.

Center: A.Q. Shipley was brought in for cheap. Lyle Sendlein was let go. Ted Larsen could be a cap casualty or just the perfect back up, or they could have their center on the roster.  They may not need one, but they could get one.

How would you rank the needs post free agency?
