With the first wave of free agency done, the Arizona Cardinal picked up several players than full specific key needs. They improved the interior line. They added speed at inside linebacker and depth to the defensive line.
So when it comes to the NFL Draft, there isn't much in terms of "need" the Cards have to add. Free agency affects the draft. As such, SB Nation's Dan Kadar has his first post-free agency mock draft, in which the Cardinals land a player who has to yet been mocked to them -- edge player Owamagbe Odighizuwa.
The Cardinals have sliced through their big needs in free agency, namely by adding guard Mike Iupati and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon. That opens Arizona up to going after either a pass rusher or cornerback in the first round. Although there are some good corners out there, Odighizuwa is an intriguing choice. He's athletic enough to rush from the edge and could play end in nickel.
Adding a guy to rush off the edge is something the Cardinals need. A guy who can also play in space is ideal.
Is he the best guy to pick? It feels a need. Eli Harold is still available. A couple of talented tackles in D.J. Humphries and T.J. Clemmings are on the board. Cornerback Jalen Collins is still available.
Would you still take Odighizuwa?
