2016 Super Bowl odds: Arizona Cardinals chances increase with free agency, Adrian Peterson

A look at where Vegas puts the Cardinals' chances for next season.

The Arizona Cardinals have big goals for the 2015 season. They aren't shy about saying they intend on being part of the Super Bowl in Levi's Stadium in 2016. The Vegas sports books aren't nearly as confident, although the odds aren't terrible.

After Super Bowl 49, Bovada set the odds for the Cardinals to win next year's big game at 33/1, which was tied for the eighth longest odds in the league.

But with the first couple of weeks of free agency, the odds have shortened. After adding Mike Iupati, Sean Weatherspoon, Corey Peters and others, Arizona's odds have improved to 25/1, again according to Bovada.

I had a guy do a little work for me and, if the Cardinals end up acquiring running back Adrian Peterson, Vegas would shorten the odds again -- rather significantly.

From Bovada's Sportsbook Manager, Kevin Bradley, Arizona's odds to win the Super Bowl improve from 25/1 to 16/1 with Peterson on the team.

Peterson also would shorten the odds for the Dallas Cowboys, the only other team they gave odds for. Dallas went from 14/1 to 16/1 with their free agent moves, but adding Peterson would improve the odds to 12/1.

The 16/1 odds for Arizona would be the fifth shortest odds in the league, still behind the Seahawks, Packers, Patriots, Colts and Broncos.
