Adam Schefter let everyone know that the Dockett decision was likely going to happen on March 4th. We had to wait only a few hours into March 5th for Dockett to make his ultimate decision.
His decision? The San Francisco 49ers.
His decision would come down to Arizona, or San Francisco, but the Seahawks and Rams were not ruled out. In the end, the 49ers outbid Arizona for Dockett's services.
Dockett was reportedly offered a one year deal by the Cardinals, in another of Keims, "Prove your healthy and we will pay you" type deal. The 49ers offered him two years, $7.5 million, with $4 million guaranteed.
Dockett spent 11 seasons with the Cardinals, and was wanted back by Steve Keim and Bruce Arians, but at a much lower cost than his scheduled salary of more than $6.5 million.
With the 49ers rebuilding from the rubble of the war between Jim Harbaugh and GM Trent Baalke, it's interesting that the Niners would be his choice.
How does Dockett's departure go over with you? What was your favorite Dockett moment on or off the field?
