NFL free agency: DT Stephen Paea reportedly getting interest from Arizona Cardinals

The former Bear is picking between three teams, according to a report.

With free agent nose tackle Dan Williams expected to test the free agent waters and land with another team, the Arizona Cardinals need help on the defensive line. We have yet another free agency rumor to throw at you all. According to CSN Chicago's Jen Lada, the Cardinals are one of three teams vying for the services of defensive tackle Stephen Paea, who played the last four seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Paea is 6-1, 300 pounds and you might remember him from the NFL Combine in 2011 when he put up a record 49 bench press reps of 225 pounds.

He has 12 career sacks, but had six alone last season, along to go with two forced fumbles and 33 tackles.

He played in two thirds of Chicago's defensive snaps.

The question is whether the Cardinals see him as a nose tackle or playing the "defensive tackle" position Darnell Dockett played, which was more or less a left defensive end in the Cardinals 3-4 defense.

As a nose tackle, he would be replacing the run-stuffing Williams, but Paea was rated a -6.0 in run defense by Pro Football Focus in 2014. He rated +18.2 as a pass rusher.

Along with the Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins are also trying to sign him.

Will the price be right? Would he be a good fit for Arizona?
