NFL free agents: Brian Orakpo drawing interest from Arizona Cardinals, who apparently like injured linebackers

Arizona keeps looking at pass rushers.

It seems like the Arizona Cardinals are interested in half of the available free agent market. Another name has popped up, and it sort of makes sense. According to reporter and radio host Mike Jurecki, the Cardinals are interested in Washington Redskins pass rusher Brian Orakpo.

Orakpo, a 6-4, 257-pound 29-year old, has been very productive when healthy. In five seasons in the NFL, he has had 11, 8.5 and 10 sacks in his three healthy seasons. In 2012 and 2014 he missed 23 games with torn pectoral muscles (his left pec in 2012 and his right pec in 2014).

Arizona's top player in sacks was Alex Okafor, who had eight in 2014. Arizona wants to add speed to the linebacking corps and pressure on the quarterback.

Orakpo makes three reported linebackers with a history of injuries the Cardinals have interest in adding. There is Sean Weatherspoon, Nate Irving and now Orakpo.

Chances are the team is looking at these guys because their price tag will likely be lower than players like Jerry Hughes or Jason Worlds, who are top pass rushers available.

How would you like Orakpo paired up with Okafor off the edge?
