Arizona Cardinals linebacker and 2014 sack leader has apparently found himself in a little bit of trouble. According to report from Statesman, the local newspaper in Austin, Texas, Okafor was arrested early Monday morning.
The report indicates Okafor was arrested for standing in the street and for resisting arrest. At the time of the report, he was still in police custody.
While it doesn't appear to be a huge deal, it is another Cardinals player having a run-in with the law.
Last season, it was running back Jonathan Dwyer who was arrested on domestic abuse charges. Last offseason, John Abraham was arrested for DUI. Two years ago, Daryl Washington was arrested for a domestic incident, which led to a guilty plea for aggravated assault.
Okafor led the Cardinals in sacks with eight after missing the first three games of the season and after playing only five snaps in 2013.
The Arizona Republic had more information.
He allegedly was part of a disturbance early Monday morning and then ran from the police. He was stopped and taken into custody. He also had a previous misdemeanor violation.
