Yes, this is a bit of a slow offseason time post, but it is one worth thinking about with the NFL Draft approaching. If you look at an NFL roster, you can get a feel for what college programs the team likes.
Based on what we see on the Arizona Cardinals roster, you can see a trend of schools.
Clemson currently is the college with the most players on the Arizona roster. There are five -- Jaron Brown, Chris Clemons, Chandler Catanzaro, Andre Ellington and Antoine McClain.
Notre Dame is next with four -- John Carlson, Troy Niklas, Michael Floyd and Robert Hughes.
Alabama, LSU and Virginia Tech are all tied with three players each on the roster. From Alabama, there is Anthony Steen, Ed Stinson and Rashad Johnson. From LSU, the Cardinals have Kevin Minter, Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson. From Vt they have Logan Thomas, Eddie Whitley and Roc Carmichael.
If you want to, you can read into this a little bit and think perhaps the prospects from these schools might get an extra look.
At cornerback, LSU's Jalen Collins is considered one of the top prospects.
Clemson has Vic Beasley and Stephone Anthony.
Virginia Tech has tackle Laurence Gibson.
Alabama has T.J. Yeldon, Landon Collins, Amari Cooper and others.
Notre Dame has DeVarius Daniels, Ben Koyack and Ishaq Williams.
Will the Cardinals go to the well with one of these schools again, either in the draft or signing undrafted rookies?
