Pat Tillman is an icon. He was an impactful football player at Arizona State. He was a different kind of guy. He played for the Arizona Cardinals and now, after his death as a soldier in the US Army, he is a symbol for the whole nation. There is a statue of him outside University of Phoenix Stadium.
So it shouldn't be a surprise that the team, after completely redoing their team facility, saved Tillman's locker. But it almost didn't happen, according to a story on the team's official web page.
It took one man and that man almost was too late. But it was saved and will be put on display.
The team put his old name plate back in -- old Cardinal logo and everything.
Here the what will eventually be displayed:

I am sure I will get to see it at some point whenever the team does get it displayed.
