2015 NFL Draft: A look at the recent history of the 24th pick in the 1st round

Just a little bit of guessing as to the type of player the Cardinals could get.

The Arizona Cardinals have the 24th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. What type of player can fans expect to get in terms of impact on the field? Let's see who has been the 24th pick over the last several years.

2014: CB Darqueze Dennard (Bengals)

2013: DE Bjoern Werner (Colts)

2012: G David DeCastro (Steelers)

2011: DE Cameron Jordan (Saints)

2010: WR Dez Bryant (Cowbys)

2009: DT Peria Jerry (Falcons)

2008: RB Chris Johnson (Titans)

2007: S Brandon Merriweather (Patriots)

2006: CB Jonathan Joseph (Bengals)

2005: QB Aaron Rodgers (Packers)

That's actually not a bad group.

Rodgers is a superstar. Dez Bryant is one of the best at his position. Chris Johnson had one of the best seasons ever by a running back. Joseph has been a very good cornerback in his career. Merriweather has been a Pro Bowler twice. Cameron Jordan is a pretty solid pass rusher. DeCastro has been solid.

The jury is still out on Werner and Dennard, but they are still very young.

Really the only player who has not really been any sort of real impact player is Jerry.

A decade of players, seven who were impactful, one who has been serviceable and two who are still to young to know what they are.

This shows the Cardinals should be able to draft a guy who will be solid. He doesn't have to be a star, but there is no reason why he can't be a very good player.
