We have had a lot of mock drafts on the site as it is NFL Draft season. This one is different. It is from recently retired Adrian Wilson, who was a Cardinals star. He got together with Mike Jurecki on Fox Sports Radio 910 and did a mock draft podcast.
He projected the entire first round. For the Arizona Cardinals, he gave a name that came up in the earliest mocks back in January and February.
After running back Melvin Gordon goes one pick before the Cardinals to the Detroit Lions, he has Arizona going with Mississippi State inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney.
"You just don't know what you're going to do with Daryl Washington," he explained about the pick. "I'm concerned about him getting suspended again. Has he learned his lesson? Probably so, but he still needs things to be done as far as the NFL is concerned. He has another suspension he's going to have to go through."
Wilson likes how McKinney is "a thumper" and just doesn't trust the situation the team has at the position. He does stipulate if Washington and Sean Weatherspoon both are on the field, it will be a great pair of inside linebackers. Even so, he goes with McKinney.
After weeks of the inside linebacker draft class going mostly in the second round, would this be too much of a reach?
