2015 NFL power rankings: Arizona Cardinals creep up after NFL Draft

New, comments

Power rankings already?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Well, with the NFL Draft over, it makes sense to rerank teams in the league, right? So naturally there are new power rankings coming out. Where do the Arizona Cardinals now sit?

According to the latest ESPN rankings, Arizona has moved up two spots, going from 10th to eighth.

The Cardinals drafted OT D.J. Humphries 24th overall, the first OT drafted by the Cardinals since 2007. No surprise after losing two quarterbacks to injury last season.

Arizona moved ahead of both the Steelers and the Bengals, both of whom are teams the Cards will face this coming season.

Perhaps we can find a little satisfaction in passing Pittsburgh. After all, they were the team that drafted Bud Dupree, the player the Cardinals really wanted to draft with the 24th pick overall.

At eighth overall, is that a fair ranking of the Cardinals? The top four remain the same -- Seattle, New England, Green Bay and Denver. The other three teams ahead of the Cardinals? They are the Colts, Cowboys and Ravens.
