Rookie Shaq Riddick finally healthy, ready for training camp

The rookie missed almost all his offseason reps.

The Arizona Cardinals start training camp in a week. It can't come quickly enough. With position battles and roster battles, it is always fun to watch as a fan. There is a rookie who badly needs to be healthy in camp and that is rookie outside linebacker Shaq Riddick, drafted this year in the fifth round.

Riddick missed almost all of the team's offseason workout when he tweaked his hamstring early on. He spend OTAs and mini-camp on the exercise bike.

Now, entering camp, according to what he tweeted on Thursday, he should be good to go.

Riddick is a guy fans will want to see. He is really the first true speed rusher Arizona has had in forever.

Playing linebacker more or less for the first time, he is behind having missed all those offseason reps.

We should perhaps not expect too much of him early on, but he was drafted to get to the quarterback. He will be playing against other teams' reserves. We should expect him to flash a little bit at least.

The situation at outside linebacker makes it there is no sure thing he will make the final 53. Hopefully he does enough to show why the team drafted him in the first place.
