The Arizona Cardinals began training camp on Friday with the players reporting and also the run test. Do you want to watch a video of football players running in shorts? Well, the team site has one.
As has occurred all three years with Bruce Arians as head coach and also since 2011 (if I recall correctly), everyone on the team passed their conditioning test.
Arians said he was "really pleased with how our team looks physically," citing the work they have done at the team facility in the offseason and the work with nutrition.
He said he "would have been shocked if they weren't in great shape."
Arians explained the move to put newly signed tight end Jermaine Gresham on PUP. He said he passed his physical, but they want him to get into football shape. He wasn't sure how long it would be he is on PUP, but it wasn't because of any lingering injury.
Tight end Troy Niklas hurt his hamstring training in the break between mini-camp and training camp. Arians didn't know how long he would be out, but that the team would be cautious. "You never know with those things," Arians said. "The guy has had a run of bad luck. We'll see how it goes and be on the safe side."
