2015 NFL training camp: Recap from Monday's Arizona Cardinals practice

What happened Monday?

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Training camp returned after a day off and this week the Arizona Cardinals will have a football game. What happened at practice? Here is some of it:

Powers sits

Jerraud Powers sat out Monday's practice with an oblique injury. As noted by Darren Urban, the laundry list of injuries continues to be long. Tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (hamstring) hopefully will return Tuesday. Linebacker Shaq Riddick (hamstring), linebacker Darryl Sharpton (hip), cornerback Shaq Richardson (unknown), tackle Rob Crisp (knee), Grice (hamstring), cornerback Darren Woodard (groin), tackle Cameron Bradfield (unknown) and safety D.J. Campbell (hamstring) sat out.

Ellington's return

Andre Ellington, sitting out for a while with a hamstring injury, finally came back to the field.

Butler kicking?

Punter Drew Butler was kicking field  goals on Monday. Interesting. Maybe it is an emergency thing.

Interceptions

Carson Palmer threw three interceptions on Monday. One went to Patrick Peterson and two went to Tyrann Mathieu. Based on the commentary on Twitter, it appears the picks were more great plays by the DBs than by Palmer.

Darren Fells still shining

Fells caught a touchdown pass that he tipped to himself, so to avoid Deone Bucannon.

Fitz good to go

Larry Fitzgerald, limited Friday and Saturday with a foot injury, was back out there without restrictions on Monday.
