2015 NFL training camp: Arizona Cardinals Tuesday practice recap

What happened in camp on Tuesday?

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The week of camp leading up to the preseason opener for the Arizona Cardinals continues. What happened in camp on Tuesday?

Swapping out a safety

No, this has nothing to do with the guys who will play, but the Arizona Cardinas made a pair of roster moves. They released D.J. Campbell and brought back Ross Weaver. Camp bodies.

D.J. returns and the offensive line rotation

There was no coincidence when there was news of a Bobby Massie suspension that first round pick D.J. Humphries returned to practice. His knee better, he took his spot as second team right tackle.

The second team had some rotating. Anthony Steen got some looks as the second team center ahead of Lyle Sendlein. One rotation was Bradley Sowell at left tackle, Earl Watford at left guard, Steen at center, Jon Halapio at right guard and D.J. Humphries at right tackle. Then, the line was Sowell, Watford, Lyle Sendlein, Ted Larsen and then Humphries.

Players coming back

Tight ends Jermaine Gresham and Troy Niklas returned to practice. Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon was in pads, as was running back Andre Ellington, but they did light work on the side. As mentioned before, D.J. Humphries practiced. Even receiver Michael Floyd, who recently had surgery to repair dislocated fingers, was on the field with his teammates.

Palmer sharp

After being intercepted three times on Monday, he looked great on Tuesday. His deep ball was accurate. He threw a 70-yard TD to John Brown.
