Arizona Cardinals Wednesday practice recap: Weatherspoon has a setback, Nelson still working with 1st team

What happened at camp on Wednesday?

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals are just a couple of days away from their preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, but training camp is still in session. What happened at practice on Wednesday?

Weatherspoon has a setback and other injuries

So much for a healthy Sean Weatherspoon. He had a setback with his injured hamstring and will miss more time. Luckily there is still a month until the regular season, but this makes Cardinals fans worry.

Andre Ellington got some work in practice and looked explosive by all reports. Jerraud Powers was on the field after coming back from oblique injury, but did individual work, as did tight end Jermaine Gresham. However, 11 players still sat out with injuries.

Palmer and some nice throws

He hit Darren Fells for a touchdown. He hit John Brown for a 65-yard thing of beauty. It makes you excited, I promise.

A 100-year old fan gets a treat

The Cardinals brought in Delma Graham, a big fan of the team, to celebrate her 100th birthday. That had to be fun.

Offensive line rotation

The first team center continued to be A. Q. Shipley. Lyle Sendlein continued with the second team and Ted Larsen was as right guard on the second team. How long can Shipley stave off Sendlein?
