2015 NFL countdown: 29 days until Week 1 and a look at Cardinals jersey No. 29

It's getting closer.

We are in the 20s. There are 29 days until the Arizona Cardinals play in Week 1. Jersey No. 29 has been a bit of a journeyman number the last few seasons.

It is now worn by safety Chris Clemons, signed last season when Andre Ellington went on injured reserve. He has been mostly an unknown to fans, but in training camp he had found his way into the rotation, playing as the seventh DB in certain speed dime sets. Justin Bethel played that role a season ago.

In recent years, it has been worn by Chester Taylor, Jamell Fleming, Alfonso Smith and Michael Bush.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie wore it.

A couple of other players worth remembering also wore it, all since coming to Arizona -- running back Adrian Murrell and defensive back Lorenzo Lynch.

Murrell joined the Cardinals in 1998 and led the team in rushing their playoff season. He rushed for 1042 yards on 3.8 yards per carry. His production dropped off significantly the following season. His yardage dropped to 553 yards and his per carry average fell to 2.9. That was a terrible team.

Lynch was with the Cardinals from 1990-1995. He spent three seasons in Chicago and then joined the Cardinals. He started out as a cornerback and had three picks in 1991 and 1993. In 1993 he was a starter. He moved to safety in 1994, playing two seasons there under Buddy Ryan before playing his final two seasons in the NFL in Oakland.

Do you have any 29 memories? Here is the list.
