The Arizona Cardinals were back at practice on Tuesday and the big news was Chris Johnson was there. Here is some of what you might have missed if you weren't there.
Getting healthier:
The running backs were all at practice fully participating. David Johnson and Marion Grice all got work in. Johnson worked with the third team .
Picks and a long TD:
Rookie J.J. Nelson roasted Tyrann Mathieu and beat him on a double move, leading to a 70-yard TD pass from Carson Palmer.
Tyrann Mathieu almost had another interception, but the ball was tipped to Justin Bethel, who made the interception. Tony Jefferson also picked off a pass, the third straight practice he had done so.
Michael Floyd ran sprints:
The injured receiver tweeted he had his stitches removed from his hand/fingers. He was at practice and did some conditioning work.
Chris Johnson worked with 2s and 1s
Johnson showed some of why the Cardinals wanted him, but also some rust as he needs to get into football shape. He worked with both the starters and the backups.
Iupati hurt?
Guard Mike Iupati left the field with trainers. We don't know what happened yet. Bruce Arians addresses the media Wednesday after the team's walk-through.
Still Sowell
Bradley Sowell was still at right tackle with the starters. Bruce Arians hasn't heard from the league yet about Bobby Massie's suspension, but he appears to be planning for it.
