2015 NFL roster cuts: Projecting the 1st 12 cuts for the Arizona Cardinals

They made one move on Saturday, but 12 more have to go by Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL has its fits round of roster cuts in the next couple of days. By 4 PM Eastern time on Tuesday, every team must have their rosters cut down to 75 players. The Arizona Cardinals have their roster currently at 87 players, so 12 will have to be released.

Who will they be? These are my projected 75-man roster cuts. Note these are the very back end of the roster. These players were more or less the true camp bodies. It is highly unlikely any of them end up on practice squads anywhere.

Arizona already let go safety Ross Weaver on Saturday. That got the roster down  to 87. The only trick to this is to make sure there are enough players at each position for Thursday's preseason finale, especially when no starter will play.

Here are my projected cuts.

  • RB Paul Lasike
  • G Nate Isles
  • TE Gannon Sinclair
  • WR Travis Harvey
  • WR Ryan Spadola
  • CB Jonte Green
  • ILB Glenn Carson
  • ILB Edwin Jackson
  • T Cameron Bradfield
  • CB C.J. Roberts
  • G Antoine McClain
  • WR Trevor Harman
Jermaine Gresham is in an interesting position. He was apparently healthy on Sunday and did not play. He could be a surprise cut, but I don't know if it would happen at this point. Perhaps he is being prepared to get a lot of work in the preseason finale on Thursday. Veteran running back Chris Johnson already will play.

There will be a game on Thursday and then all teams will have to have their final cuts made by Saturday afternoon. Then there will be a scramble with waivers and the practice squad. It is an exciting time of year.
