In the time of year of predictions for the coming NFL season, there are always one or two that catch your eye. This year's strange prediction comes from SI.com's Greg Bedard. In the season preview for the NFC West, he has the Cardinals ending up in last place in the division with a 5-11 record.
In fact, it happens in 2012 style. They win their first two games, lose their next 10, then close the season winning three of four, including wins over the Packers and Seahawks.
What Bedard does not do is explain himself. He doesn't say he believes Carson Palmer will get hurt in Week 2 and then miss the next 10 weeks.
For the Cardinals to finish 5-11, there would have to be some sort of disaster. Nothing else would make sense.
Bedard picks the Seahawks to end up 12-4, the Rams 11-5 and the 49ers 9-7.
Is there anything more absurd?
