The Arizona Cardinals take on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. It is both team's season opener, each is looking to start the season strongly. New Orleans wants to return to the postseason while the Cardinals woudl like to repeat to the postseason, but this time advance.

Here are some facts worth noting for the game coming up:

Cardinals and home opener wins go together

Arizona has won five straight home openers. They are 8-1 since University of Phoenix Stadium.

Milestone for Fitz

This was said for a few weeks to end last season, but if Larry Fitzgerald has a touchdown reception, it will be the 90th of his career. He would be only the 10th player in NFL history to have 90 receiving TDs and at least 12,000 yards.

Carson Palmer: All he does is win

In his last 15 games, the team is 13-2, a winning percentage of .867. It is the best winning percentage among other quarterbacks since Week 8 of 2013.

Out of the NFC West

The Cardinals are 16-4 against teams outside their own division since Bruce Arians was hired as head coach. They are 10-0 at home.


There are no former Saints on the Cardinals roster. There were two former Cardinals -- running back Tim Hightower and guard Senio Kelemete. However, Hightower was released buy the team on Saturday.
