The NFL had it's share of upsets, stunners, and down right superb games in week two, all helping us to compile a very scientific Week two power rankings list. (Okay not very scientific) So without further ado, lets examine the ranks!
RK | Team | SB Nation Team Blog
1 | Acme Packing Company | Statistically, the Packers offense does not jump off the page. Mainly due to the fact that they just played the Seattle Seahawks. The loss of Eddie Lacy for an unknown amount of time will sting, but Aaron Rodgers will get this team to play.
2 | New England Patriots | Pats Pulpit | Tom Brady has come back with a vengeance in his two games following an offseason of controversy. In his two games the Patriots have put up 68 points. Brady has thrown for seven scores and already amassed 700 passing yards. |
3 | Arizona Cardinals | Revenge of the Bird | Much was made about the potential of the Cardinals in 2014. The loss of Palmer brought and end to that potential for at least another season. 2015 has started off excellent. Palmer has tossed for seven scores, hasn't been sacked once. and the team has put up 79 points already, which is more than they had through 3 games last season. |
4 | Pittsburgh Steelers | Behind the Steel Curtain | The Steelers turned in a very solid outing against the 49ers, after a mediocre outing the week prior against the Patriots. Big Ben put up 370 yards and three scores in a 43-13 beating of the 49ers. |
5 | Dallas Cowboys | Blogging the Boys | Though they have been ugly wins, you can't argue with their record through two weeks. The Cowboys have started off 2-0 despite being written off for letting Demarco Murray go to division rival Philly. Their second win of the season however came at a heavy cost, as Tony Romo suffered a fractured clavicle which will put him out for at least the next eight weeks of the season. They'll have to rely on Brandon Weeden, who looked sharp, but has had a poor career. |
6 | Cincinnati Bengals | Cincy Jungle | The Bengals have had two solid wins to start the season. Both wins have come against AFC West opponents. The Raiders were man handled 33-13, and the Chargers could not pull off the comeback falling 24-19. The Bengals defense has been solid, and the Bengals offensive line has given Andy Dalton plenty of time to throw the football. Dalton has completed 71.4% of his passes when facing four or fewer pass rushers. |
7 | Denver Broncos | Mile High Report | It's tough to put the Broncos any lower since they're 2-0 riding the best defense in the NFL. Peyton Manning has had seven mediocre quarters out of eight played. His best was the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs. There is a long way to go in 2015, but Manning has not impressed many fans, and signs of age are showing with his arm. |
8 | Kansas City Chiefs | Arrowhead Pride |
The addition of Jeremy Maclin has given Alex Smith and Andy Reid more speed to work with, but this offense is still built around passing to the tight ends. Travis Kelce is the leading receiver, and is the receiver of two of Smith's three scores. They're looking like the biggest threat to the Bronocs, had it not been for a late fumble by Jamaal Charles, we could be talking about how the Chiefs are leading the West, and not the Broncos. |
9 | Buffalo Bills | Buffalo Rumblings | Rex Ryan has given this team a new swagger. He's not the loud mouth coach who is in the news daily, but he still says the right things to get his young team motivated and fighting. A very impressive week one win over the AFC favorites Indianapolis Colts shot his teams confidence into overdrive, but the week two loss to AFC East foe Patriots, has brought them down to earth. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has looked impressive in two games, and the Bills will hope that can continue. |
10 | Seattle Seahawks | Field Gulls | It's tough to put the NFC Champions of the past two seasons any lower. They've struggled in the past two weeks, and their weak offensive line has been a glaring issue. The holdout by Kam Chancellor has also shown it's ugly head, in particular the Week two game against Green Bay. |
