You know what time it is. It is podcast time. It is time to listen to the latest installment of Revenge of the Birds Radio, the only Arizona Cardinals podcast by fans for fans, with both insider and outsider perspectives.
The latest episode is all about Week 2 and the happenings for Week 3.
Seth Cox and I talk about the good things in the 48-23 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday and Seth speaks of his perspective of the game, as he was actually in attendance in Chicago.
We discuss Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald, the running game and the fact the Cardinals just smashed the Bears after Tony Jefferson's interception and touchdown.
We discuss rookie running back David Johnson and compare him and his play to Andre Ellington as a rookie. Seth admits he was very wrong about Ellington being able to handle 25 carries a game and isn't making the same mistake this year. He isn't calling for more touches for David Johnson. He is content with the youngster making big plays in limited action.
We both agree that Chris Johnson getting a bunch of carries is actually just what the Cardinals need offensively. He hasn't been dynamic, but he was a very steady 20 carries for 72 yards. More importantly, he only had one negative play in those 20 carries.
We essentially compare it to 2013 with Rashard Mendenhall and Andre Ellington, only it seems like Johnson and Johnson are a better version in both cases.
We get into the offensive line situation and talk about Bobby Massie's return, as well as the return of Mike Iupati.
Once again, we keep the show under an hour, so make sure to listen.
