The Arizona Cardinals have two key injured players in guard Mike Iupati and running back Andre Ellington. Both are key players who start and are expected to make big contributions in 2015. One appears set to return this week, while the other is more likely next week.

Head coach Bruce Arians was a guest on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday and he said Iupati is likely going to play against the 49ers on Sunday, his former team.

"Mike is scheduled to practice fully on Wednesday," he said to Alex Marvez. "He practiced on the scout team, didn't have any swelling, knock on wood."

It did not sound like Ellington would be able to play. "He's running now, fingers crossed for next week," Arians said.

The knee injury Ellington suffered was believed to be a one to three-week deal. It should be no surprise he will not be ready to go this week.

Assuming this is the case, the Cardinals will roll against the 49ers with their duo of Johnson and Johnson, with the veteran Chris Johnson getting the bulk of the carries and the rookie David Johnson getting a few touches.

In the team's 48-23 win over Chicago, Chris Johnson carried the ball 20 times for 72 yards, only getting tackled once for a loss. David Johnson had five carries for 42 yards. That included a touchdown and three carries for more than 10 yards. He also returned the opening kickoff 108 yards for a score.
