He might be the best Cardinals player in history.

There are now only eight days until the Arizona Cardinals begin the regular season. That means we look at jersey No. 8, which is retired.

It is retired because of Hall of Fame safety Larry Wilson.

BigRedBilly wrote a wonderful piece on Wilson, calling him the greatest Cardinal ever.

He was an eight-time Pro Bowler and  he was also a First Team All-Pro five straight year between 1966-1970. He had 10 interceptions in 1966.

I know I am not giving him nearly enough credit, but since Billy wrote the story, make sure you read it.
