Arizona Cardinals depth chart: Earl Watford to start at RT, Ifeanyi Momah a starter

With the final roster set, what does the first depth chart look like?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals have their final 53-man roster set. They have their practice squad set. They begin practice on Tuesday for their season opener against the New Orleans Saints. What is left? What does the depth chart look like?

There are a couple of things to note. Here is how it looks, according to the team site:

Quarterback: Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton, Matt Barkley

Nothing surprising here, expect for the fact that Matt Barkley is on this football team.

Running back: Andre Ellington, Chris Johnson, Stepfan Tayor, David Johnson

Running backs on the depth chart are always tricky. David Johnson is at the back, but I still think he might get more carries and even touches than Taylor, who is more or less a third down back.

WR1: Larry Fitzgerald, Jaron Brown, Brittan Golden
WR2: Michael Floyd, John Brown, J.J. Nelson

Again, this is how it has always been, but because of training camp, we know that Nelson gets on the field before Jaron Brown.

TE1: Darren Fells, Troy Niklas
TE2: Ifeanyi Momah, Jermaine Gresham

Is this is how the depth chart stays all year, it will be a surprise. The only reason Niklas and Gresham are behind Momah is because they simply didn't play in the preseason.

LT: Jared Veldheer, Bradley Sowell
LG: Mike Iupati, Ted Larsen
C: A.Q. Shipley, Lyle Sendlein
RG: Jonathan Cooper, Earl Watford
RT: Earl Watford, D.J. Humphries

Bobby Massie does not appear while he is suspended. The big news here is how Watford is now the starting right tackle. That is great news. Sendlein could pass Shipley this week. We will see.

DE: Calais Campbell, Cory Redding, Josh Mauro
NT: Rodney Gunter, Xavier Williams
DT: Frostee Rucker, Ed Stinson

No surprises here at all.

SOLB: LaMarr Woodley, Markus Golden
WOLB; Alex Okafor, Kareem Martin, Shaq Riddick

Nothing really of note here.

ILB: Sean Weatherspoon, Kenny Demens
ILB: Kevin Minter, Alani Fua

What will be interesting is to see who of Minter and Weatherspoon will be on the field in nickel/dime sets. Deone Bucannon will likely be sliding down to play dollar linebacker again, but who will be the other guy?

LCB: Patrick Peterson, Justin Bethel
RCB: Jerraud Powers, Justin Bethel

This is just how it has to be when there are three CBs on the roster

SS: Tony Jefferson, Deone Bucannon
FS: Tyrann Mathieu, Rashad Johnson, Chris Clemons

What is interesting is how Jefferson continues to be a "starter", but it is Bucannon and Mathieu who never seem to leave the field. We will see how it plays out.

KR: Brittan Golden, J.J. Nelson
PR: Brittan Golden, J.J. Nelson, John Brown, Patrick Peterson

Now that things have fallen in place on the roster, it is Golden who gets the jobs.

Kicker, punter and long snapper are all obvious.
