The Arizona Cardinals have their final roster set. They traded for quarterback Matt Barkley and made a bunch of cuts. They brought back a few for the practice squad and also signed some new guys. There is a new depth chart, as well, which means football is really here and games now count.
That meant it was time for a new Revenge of the Birds Radio show with me and Seth Cox.
The newest episode comes a day earlier because of scheduling conflicts when we normally record, but that means you get it sooner.
This show focuses on the final moves of the offseason. We discuss the Matt Barkley trade and we both are critical of the move for several reasons -- fit, performance and bailing on a player who was known to be a project. It is the first move I openly question.
We both play GM and look at how the roster played out, sharing how we each would have gone. I explain why the Cardinals went with five safeties and three cornerbacks. It makes sense, I promise.
Then we discuss the new practice squad and the newest depth chart, rejoicing over the fact that Earl Watford will start at right tackle.
Make sure you listen to the show. You can use the streaming player above or below, or you can download the show directly here, listening to it later on your device when you please.
