The Arizona Cardinals got what they needed for the week with Zac Dysert and released him from his contract, and then in a corresponding move a day later, they have re-signed Kerwynn Williams to the 53 man roster.
Clearly the Arizona Cardinals are comfortable with Carson Palmer in at the least, a back up role against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football this next week, or else they would have kept Zac Dysert around.
For Williams, it means another chance to remain on the roster for a partial season, and likely to see some work in a backfield that has not lived up to the depth expectations it was given before the season started.
Williams has been with the Cardinals for parts of each of the last two seasons, collecting 388 rushing yards and a touchdown on 80 carries, to go along with four receptions for 27 yards.
He has been up and down on the Cardinals roster, but he is clearly someone they trust, even over Elijhaa Penny, who was put on the practice squad over Williams.
Good luck to Kerwynn.
