The NFC West was supposed to be one of the best divisions in the NFL in 2016, but through the first five weeks of the season, it has been anything but.
With the Seahawks on their bye week, the Rams were the only team playing on Sunday.
After the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers set football back for the first half of their Thursday Night Football game, the teams came alive, relatively speaking, to have a nicely paced second half, with the Arizona Cardinals of course coming out on top.
The Rams meanwhile took on the Buffalo Bills in Los Angeles.
It was another chance for the Rams to make a statement, but instead we continued to see that they are just not built for high scoring affairs, no matter what happened in Tampa Bay.
That leaves the division looking as such:
Seattle Seahawks 3-1
Los Angeles Rams 3-2
Arizona Cardinals 2-3
San Francisco 49ers 1-4
Even with a win on Monday and a Los Angeles loss in Detroit the Cardinals will remain one game back to the Rams since the Rams hold the head-to-head lead right now.
The Seahawks match up for one of the premier weekend games, hosting the Atlanta Falcons, so the Cardinals could come into Monday with a chance to gain a game on each of the teams above them in the standings.
