Chris Hubert gets promoted to Arizona Cardinals roster

The undrafted free agent from Fayetteville State is getting his chance

The Arizona Cardinals have added Chris Hubert to their active roster after bringing him back to the practice squad yesterday.

Hubert will be taking Jaron Brown’s spot, unlikely to be taking his role on though, for the Arizona Cardinals.

Brown had been having his finest season in the NFL before his ACL tear in Sunday night’s wonderful tie with the Seattle Seahawks.

His loss was immediately felt, as it was his position that Kerwynn Williams was filling, after Alex Okafor could not go anymore either, that allowed the punt block that gave Seattle their only trip into Arizona Cardinals territory in regulation time.

It is those little things that will be missed most of all about Jaron Brown.

Hubert was one of the big surprises early in training camp, but he faded as the month went on and was cut and brought back to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, but for only one week.

He was then released again after the New England Patriots game, and has been waiting for an opportunity for the last seven weeks. It came yesterday, where he was re-signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad then moved up to the active roster.

What a climb for the undrafted free agent out of small Division II Fayetteville State.

In a subsequent move the Arizona cardinals brought Martin Wallace back to the practice squad after he was released yesterday to make room for Hubert.

Congratulations to both players and good luck and continued success.
