When Steve Keim made the move for Chandler Jones in the off season, the hope was his play would grow the Arizona Cardinals pass rush and make the Cardinals a complete defense.
Through the first seven weeks of the NFL season he has been potentially the best edge pass rusher in the league.
From Pro Football Focus:
They have Jones as the third best pass rusher in the NFL this season, but his overall impact is even greater.
He has freed up Calais Campbell this year, who ranks fifth in this PFF ranking and has made Markus Golden not only a threat to garner hurries in pass rushing, but also helped him finish plays now.
Add to the fact that he has continued to get better every week, and now you are talking about not just a dominant pass rusher, but one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
His effect on the Arizona Cardinals has been profound, but his individual play has been phenomenal as well.
Jones has 21 (26 actually) quarterback disruptions (8 pressures and 13 hits) to go along with his five sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The change in the Arizona Cardinals defense is noticeable, and it started with 55.
